CloudSense Raises Money for Action for Children

September 22, 2015

Cloud technology company, CloudSense is playing its part in helping raise money for vulnerable young people by taking part in national ‘sleep out’ event, Byte Night, scheduled for 2 October 2015.

CloudSense will join partners Accenture and Salesforce in participating in the event which involves hundreds of like-minded business people giving up their beds for the night to help raise money for disadvantaged children. Each member of the CloudSense team plans to raise £1,000 in sponsorship by the end of the year.

“Byte Night represents an excellent way for people across the IT industry to come together to give something back to society through a very worthwhile cause,” says Lawrence Buckler, Global Alliances and Partnerships Director, CloudSense. “This is a great opportunity for us to highlight the plight of homeless children but also to raise a large sum of money to make a positive difference to their lives.”

Byte Night is Action for Children’s biggest annual fundraiser; a national ‘sleep-out’ event. It all began in 1998 when 30 individuals slept out in London and raised £35,000. Since then, Byte Night has grown to 8 UK locations and over 1300 people slept out in 2014 and have raised over £1.1 million. Byte Night is one of the UK’s top 20 mass participation charity events and is the largest charity sleep-out having raised over £7.2m since the first event.
